The Purposeful Dialogue: Leading Your Family Forward

Successful mutligenerational families practice good communication and share a clear picture of the future based on their values. The Purposeful Dialogue conversation cards help family members clarify the core values that underlie personal decisions and motivations. The cards also facilitate a greater understanding of each family member’s identity and aspirations. Colette Powers, Powers Wealth Management, UBS, will facilitate an interactive experience using the cards to explore:

Discover your why: Deciding what is important in life: We all have certain core values that we live by. The purpose of this exercise is to actively think about and identify values that are most important to you. Life can be even more rewarding when you are aware of your values—and when you make plans and decisions that align with them.

Discover your why: The way I see it—Picturing your life: This activity is designed to help you visualize your life the way you want it to be. It is meant to spark conversations and see how each family member pictures his or her life. As you consider the images that resonate most with you and deliberate amongst yourselves, you will discover each other’s hopes and aspirations. Make note of them. Then use the learnings to articulate your vision for your legacy.
